Facility Description

Rapides Regional Medical Center is an award-winning hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana, that offers a wide array of services to 13 parishes across Central Louisiana. Our services range from the latest advances in cardiac care to minimally invasive neurosurgery and boasts pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. Rapides has been a part of central Louisiana for more than a century. What began in 1903 as a small, two-story wooden building with just 20 beds and six physicians has grown into a 346-bed, state-of-the-art medical facility with more than 450 physicians from 30 medical specialties.
