The City of Alexandria is seeking professional individuals to begin a career in government Human Resources Department, located in the heart of Central Louisiana to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components in government buildings for the City of Alexandria. Systems range from residential to 480 volts, and include emergency generators, three phase motors and control devices and circuits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, vocational or technical school training in electric construction and technology; supplemented by significant working experience in maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems; including three phase industrial systems, equivalent to that of a journey-level electrician; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey-level licensed Electrician is desired, as is knowledge of the applicable Electrical Construction Codes. Must possess a valid drivers license. Will be required to obtain a valid State of Louisiana drivers license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; may work overtime, including holidays and weekends.
