The Project Controls Scheduler II performs complex aspects of individual project estimating, project and task planning, scheduling and change control documentation for large capital projects and other large scale, high-cost strategic projects requiring strict governance. This position supports Project Managers on large capital projects varying in size and complexity. This position requires knowledge and understanding of project control principles, including earned value management, expert level knowledge of various computer applications that provide analytics related to planning, scheduling and risk management; specifically Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities

Plans, schedules and tracks capital projects and large scale, high-cost strategic projects utilizing critical path scheduling methods, per industry best practices
Owns the baseline schedule and updates key stakeholders with strategic and intuitive information supporting project governance.
Performs needed QA/QC on projects to ensure alignment and compliance with strategic goals and initiatives.
Anticipates and understands project development needs and balances with department goals.
Demonstrates interest in understanding how the position contributes to corporate profitability.
Promotes safe work practices that results in safety achievements consistent with corporate goals and objectives.
Responsible for reporting on project status, performance variance and critical path analysis at a level appropriate for each project.
Tracks and manages scope changes and schedule baselines.
Provides hypothetically “what-if” schedule scenarios for complex and high schedule risk projects.
Provides earned value analysis and other progress reporting functions.
Monitors and proactively provides input on issues impacting the project.
Develops and maintains projects, identifying relationships, logic, milestones, durations, constraints, and potential schedule risks.
Exhibits safety awareness and recognizes hazards, communicates with others to prevent accidents and unsafe acts.
Works as a team player and fosters collaboration with others in accomplishing targeted tasks along with providing training and sharing data.
Communicates and coordinates between individuals and departments to manage schedules and update progress.
Works independently with Project Managers to develop project scopes and reports on cost and schedule.
Coordinates and acts as liaison across multiple departments to ensure stakeholder buy-in to the project.
With knowledge of construction works with LOB's to meet common goals.
Works with a moderate level of guidance.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field with 3+ years of scheduling experience (preferably in Primavera P6) or an equivalent of 3-5+ years of scheduling experience (preferably in Primavera P6) in lieu of degree
Excellent computer skills; specifically SAP (preferred) and Primavera P6 (required)
Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
Strong planning and scheduling skills
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
Demonstrates ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment and presenting ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset
Knowledge and skills in critical path method (CPM) project schedule development
Proficiency with critical path network scheduling tools, specifically Primavera P6
Must be knowledgeable with earned value management and other performance measurement techniques
Requires experience in critical path schedule analysis, integrated cost-schedule planning, scheduling performance assessment, and reporting
Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data
