About This Opportunity

This position is responsible for:

  • Subscribes to, adheres to, and shares the Doctrines, Mission, and Positions of The Salvation Army Serves as an evangelist to the community and constituency of the Corps.
  • Develop and leads worship services and ministerial programs.
  • Provides spiritual guidance and leadership to the same. Serve the Corps by assisting in the planning, coordinating, administration, monitoring, evaluating, and developing of the day-to-day operations of the Corps.
  • Develops and leads religious programs.
  • Participates in social service programs providing assistance to people in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an evangelist through the proclamation of Jesus Christ as redeemer with the intent of impacting the lives of men and women through spiritual regeneration responsibilities.
  • Assists in the planning and implementing of worship and outreach programs for the corps that reach across all age groups.
  • Plans, develops, prepares, and leads specific youth ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings for Adventure Corps.
  • Assists and partners in developing Salvation Army evangelical mission outreach and growth
  • Assists in developing, leading and/or supporting Salvation Army evangelical mission programs and ministries in corps/club.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking, and sitting at least 90% of the work time.
  • Rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time.
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
  • Work requires travel in order to conduct community and home visits.

What We Are Looking For In You

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field,
  • Or
  • Three years' experience performing mission work or experience participating in program development for a church or corps.
  • Or
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Bon-a-fide Occupational Qualification (BFOQ):

This position requires an active, uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid States Driver's License
