Position Summary: The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of facility equipment and fixtures through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This position involves diagnosing issues using technical resources, overseeing junior associates, managing maintenance schedules, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers. The role requires adherence to regulatory standards and company policies while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Technician contributes expert knowledge to maintain operational excellence and supports business objectives by delivering high-quality, compliant maintenance services across multiple crafts and facilities.

About the team: The Facilities Services team ensures safe and efficient store operations by maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building systems. Senior Technicians independently diagnose and resolve complex issues, supporting uninterrupted service. The team emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and safety while delivering operational excellence. Members continuously develop technical skills through hands-on problem-solving and managing urgent challenges. What you'll do:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair equipment, documenting wear and recommending repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct major and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Oversee junior associates and act as job foreman on assigned projects.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide onsite training to technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations while maintaining accurate records and reports.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure facility safety and functionality.
  • Skilled in equipment repair, including electrical systems, wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor oversight.
  • Effective leadership skills to guide and train junior technicians and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Proficient in documenting maintenance activities and preparing budget and expense reports.

Minimum Qualifications: Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade. Valid Driver's License. Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). 1 year's experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
